Pandeva Sena
Young? Creative? Dynamic?
ISKCON Pandava Sena is an active and vibrant youth group of Bhaktivedanta Manor. If you want to meet new people, who are all thinking a little deeper about life and a little crazier than your average person feel free to come to any of our events. Over the past 13 years we’ve established ourselves all over the U.K and have expanded to Holland, New Jersey, Malaysia, South Africa, India and most recently Australia. We have a wide range of students from schools, colleges and universities.
Set up to educate youth, of all backgrounds, through interactive discussions, multimedia performances and movie productions and yes you can be sure it’s a whole lot of fun too.
We all know youth and music go hand in hand and ‘Jammins’ are the Pandava Sena’s most popular and regular events. Named after the Bob Marley hit, Jammins take are the place to be on Friday nights! They take place in East London, Harrow, South London and Crawley. Jammins are a perfect blend of interactive discussions, hyped up kirtans, with (very modern and unique beats) and the most sumptuous prasadam on the planet. All in all it’s a great opportunity to meet and chat with similar-minded people and have some fun PLUS learn something at the same time!
Similar programmes also take place in other parts of the U.K. such as Birmingham and Leicester! And the Pandava Sena are a big support and network for the Universalities 25 Krishna Consciousness societies in the UK.
Without doubt the Pandava Sena members pull all the stops out at Festivals and their inventiveness and creativity demonstrates the talent and skills we have in our youth. Movies are made like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Incense Sticks’. Drama adaptations and performances such as the popular TV serial of ‘LOST’ and theatrical performances such as the burning down of the wicked Ravana and so many other adventures not forgetting the fantastic Pandava holiday trips to places such as Spain, Ireland, Italy and Belgium with visiting Maharaja’s, special guest speakers and adventure sports like white water rafting and mountaineering. You’d have to agree there are no other youth holidays so thought provoking, giving so much wisdom, reality life skills, exhilarating form start to finish.
On the level though, what makes Pandava Sena the best youth group is that you meet so many new, fun and active people, thinking in the same way, looking for the same things, that you end up doing everything together...
What they have to say
Jay Shetty, Chairman, ISKCON Pandava Sena psena@krishnatemple.com some words from our members... “We organise a retreat abroad every year, last year we went to France and it was my first trip. Brijesh, 21 [City University London] “The best Jammin’s, heaviest trips and friendliest people! Wouldn’t want to be part of any other group, I’m so glad I got involved through the university societies!”
Jigar, 21 [King’s College London] “I love being around so many wonderful people. The best thing is we end up doing everything together, which makes it really fun! I can’t wait for more and more people to join!”
