The Splendid Gardens of Lord Krishna
The gardens of Krishna in the Manor are flourishing thanks to the painstaking endeavour of the team, headed by Gandarvika devi dasi. The team expresses their creativity through four seasons
of love for the Lord. The work continues all year round. Everyone enjoyed seeing the gardens wake up after winter. Spring was the busiest time of the year, with the renovation of flowerbeds and sowing of new plants. The team focussed on filling the famous Bhagavad Gita walk with different species of rhododendron.
With the arrival of summer, seasons of labour started to bear fruit. Summer is always a colourful time. The grounds were filled with hanging baskets and containers and the queen of summer shrubs, the beautiful rose, could be seen blossoming in different colours.
All the hectic flowering and reproductive activity of the summer is over by the mellow season of autumn. The changing colour of leaves signals the beginning of the end of the growing season. But the team continues on with the great help of the polytunnel, which allows outdoor gardening to be done indoors. Perfect for the English weather! Different herbs and flowering plants are grown, including beds of colour coordinated, perennials.
