Cow Protection

Is Cow Protection Relevant Today? Srila Prabhupada never taught us to stop using milk, rather he taught us to offer our milk products to Lord Krishna. This purifies the cows, and us. At the same time, Srila Prabhupada taught us to establish farm projects where we could produce our own milk. The Manor is one such project.

Cow Protection - She is our mother and best friend

Just think of all the nice foods the cow, she serves us with daily. She transforms miraculously the simple grass into healthy milk, delicious cream, tasty cheese, butter and yogurt. So many tasty recipes are made with her dairy produce.
Since the introduction of tractors, the bull has largely been made redundant, however traditionally the Bull was considered to be our father because he serves to plough the fields to sow the grains.

When will that day come when we can all drink our daily milk from protected herds? Presently, the Manor’s herd is set to produce between thirty-five to forty thousand litres of milk this year. This will meet a significant part of the Manor’s needs. However, it does not meet all the requirements. In the coming years we want to work towards increasing our land and agricultural buildings so we can move step by step in fulfilling Srila Prabhupada’s dream of dairy product self- sufficiency for the Manor. We value your help and well-wishes in this endeavour.

Volunteering
At the Manor we offer you to play a vital part by volunteering in our cow protection project.
You can get involved in these types of activities given that your health is satisfactory
To assist milking, be a general farm hand, haymaking, fencing, working with the bullocks ploughing the land and making friends yourself with the most generous loving animals of the land.
